Is it possible to start a new study with an existing book from the document section? In other words can one book be used for multiple studies?
Of course yes. Study is your research topic/viewpoint, documents is your material.
The original material could be organized by various of viewpoint and combined different via study connection.

It’s likely a misunderstood. The topics/subjects reflected as the notebook name in Study entrance.
Still can’t understand your request, that button showing thumbnails is all same in the study interface.
