I’m not sure what impact this would have on other workflows but I use Merge Into to continue a note’s contents that form a continuous whole. I don’t like making these children or siblings because that gets messy. So I merge two excerpts that form a cohesive whole in my mind.
Currently, when I export to OPML these merged excerpts become ‘notes’ to the ‘parent’ excerpt. If I wanted them as notes, I’d make a note. Notes are usually reserved for my own notes.
Request in a nutshell: OPML exported notes that are merged should be merged as a singular entity and not the merged excerpt as notes with the hosting excerpt.
