Will merging 2 notebook and keeping a copy will result in doubling the file size?

I want to merge a notebook into another notebook. But I also want to keep the first notebook. Does this result in a doubling of the file size?

Hi, I have done it a couple of times.
The first you should do is to make a copy of both notebooks, if everything goes ok you can delete then afterwards.
If you import a notebook with new pdfs, those will be also included and the size will increase, but if what you import is from the same pdf only the excerpts should be imported and the size shouldn´t increase much.
What makes the notebook increase in size is the pdfs mainly.
