Hi MarginNote team and community,
I’m a regular user of MarginNote 4 on iPad Pro and would like to suggest a feature that could greatly improve the app for those of us working with external monitors in professional or academic environments:
Feature Request: Add support for true external display (Stage Manager) in iPadOS.
Currently, MarginNote only mirrors the iPad screen when connected to an external monitor. This results in black borders and underutilization of widescreen monitors (16:9 or 21:9). Given that iPad Pro (M1/M2/M4) with iPadOS 16/17 already supports extended display mode in compatible apps, it would be extremely helpful if MarginNote adopts this functionality as well.
What would this enable?
- Use the external monitor to display the mind map or study panel, while editing the PDF on the iPad (or vice versa).
- Improve multitasking for complex studies, research projects, legal workflows, etc.
- Enhance the iPad’s role as a main productivity workstation.
I encourage other users to support this idea, and I hope the development team considers it for a future update.
Thanks for building such a powerful and complete app!
Johann
