Annotations in Active Studyset Lost After Deleting a Different Studyset with Same Doc!

Several months of handwritten annotations vanished from my textbook across all studysets. I later discovered them in the Recycle Bin, where I saw they had been slowly deleting from top to bottom over four days. I found the root cause, and it is a critical issue: This happened because I deleted a studyset that contained the same textbook, even though my active annotations were in a completely different studyset.

Here is a timeline of what happened:

· The Setup: I had the same textbook imported into two different studysets—let’s call them “Studyset A” (old) and “Studyset B” (current).
· The Action: Four days ago, I deleted “Studyset A,” which I no longer needed.
· The Problem: After deleting Studyset A, the annotations in my active Studyset B began to slowly disappear over time. It not only deleted the annotations that I intended to remove from Studyset A but also from Studyset B.
· It appears that deleting a studyset does not just remove the workspace, but it also permanently deletes the underlying annotation data for that document, even if it was not annotated in the deleted study set.
· My Temporary Fix: The only way I could recover all my annotations was to restore the deleted “Studyset A” from the trash. Immediately, all my notes in “Studyset B” reappeared. I am now stuck with a useless studyset that I cannot delete without losing all my work.

Is there a correct way to delete a studyset without this happening?
