App freezes when clicking Settings button [macOS 4.1.20]

Description:

Environment

  • App Version: 4.1.20 (downloaded from Mac App Store)
  • macOS Version: 26.0 Beta
  • Device: MacBook Pro 16Inch 2019

Issue Description

The application becomes completely unresponsive (freezes) whenever I click on the Settings button. This issue occurs consistently every time.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Open MarginNote4
  2. Click on the Settings button
  3. The app immediately freezes and becomes unresponsive

Expected Behavior

The Settings window should open normally, allowing access to application preferences.

Actual Behavior

The entire application freezes upon clicking Settings. The UI becomes completely unresponsive, and I have to force quit the application.

Additional Information

  • This issue happens 100% of the time
  • I have tried restarting the app multiple times
  • I’ve tried reinstalling and clearing the cache.

Workaround

Currently, there is no workaround. I cannot access the Settings at all.
