BUG? Please fix export function from ePub files!

Hello.
In MarginNote 3 I was able to export highlights/notes/cards from ePub documents to PDF, Evernote, Word, OmniOutline, whatever. I was also able to export them from Document view/mode, while in MN4 the export option only comes up in StudySet mode. The ePub files have also lost the ePub label they used to have in library view, which was very useful if you have both ePub and PDF versions.

But in MN4 NONE of the export functions are working properly (exported files only contain the StudySet title and none of the highlights/cards. Nor can I reorder the notes in StudySet mode as I could do so easily in MN3, and somewhat less easily for PDF files in MN4.

Please fix these issues ASAP - ePub is still an important format!

ETA: Some corrections to my message above after playing with ePub annotations some more:

  1. Weirdly, the ePub/PDF labels are now showing up for me in the document Iist. No clue why that was not the case earlier!:woman_shrugging:t2: But I am glad to see them as I have quite a few ePub/PDF pairs so this minimizes confusion.

  2. I have figured out the problem with exporting the ePub highlights. Although highlighted passages show up in the Document and StudySet “note list”/outline views in MN4, they cannot be reordered or exported until they have been added to the mind map. Once this is done things work fine. This is different behavior from MN3, where you can export notes from the document without ever creating a MindMap.

I am very relieved there is a way to get highlights and card comments out of MarginNote 4 for ePub documents, after all. But I would love to see MN4 gain parity with MN3 in terms of being able to avoid creation of a StudySet and addition to the mind map when this is otherwise unnecessary. But since I don’t think this is possible even for PDFs in MN4 I assume this represents a fundamental shift in approach that isn’t going to change.
