when I try to create a new notebook, i.e.
I get a (null) notebook
where I cannot actually do anything.
I tried reopening MN and restarting the computer, but it did not solve the problem.
Any help would be very much appreciated!

Hello, this is a new notebook, you need to first clone the original notebook with notes, (if it’s a document notebook, you need to Mr. into a study notebook) and then merge it with other new associated documents into a new notebook.
This is a bit counter intuitive
