Please advise how to get education discount for marginnote4 Max to use on my MacBook and iPad.

Is it a subscription or can I get a “Forever” version?

Version Information: Mac registration code version from the official website for channels other than the Apple App Store.
It can activate two devices simultaneously, and MN provides an anti-activation mechanism.
Target Audience: Students, teachers. Personnel of scientific research institutions

Discount: 35% Off.

Application Method:

  1. Send an email from your school email address to service@marginnote.com (Emails from other email addresses will be considered invalid by default).
  2. The email subject must be in the following format: ** Educational Discount - School Name - Major - Class - Real Name**
    Example: Educational Discount - Sichuan University - Department of Chemical Machinery - 161211 - Huang Dong
  3. In the body of the email, fill in your private email address .
  4. Attachment: Front and back sides of the student ID card (Required to confirm your current enrollment status).

Tips:

  1. Please use your own real and valid information for the application. If the applicant uses information that is not their own or uses false information for the educational discount application, MarginNote reserves the right to suspend the activation at any time, and the purchased amount will not be refunded.
  2. The educational discount does not apply to applications in the iOS and Mac App Stores. There is no educational discount for iOS, so please directly download and purchase in the App Store.

  1. What should I do if my school doesn’t have an educational email address or doesn’t allow student registration?
    Provide real and valid documents to prove your enrollment status, including but not limited to the registration information on your student ID card.
    After manual review and approval, the registration code will be issued as appropriate.

  2. I am a teacher, but I don’t work in a university. How should I apply?
    Teachers who are not in universities should provide valid work information, including but not limited to a teacher’s qualification certificate (A single teacher’s ID card is invalid).

  3. Does the educational discount apply to MarginNote on iOS?
    There is no educational discount code channel for MarginNote in the iOS and Mac App Stores.

Thank you for your response.

I’m a bit confused.

Your email states that 35% discount for

Therefore, if I email (service@marginnote.com) my student ID (front and back) from my university email address (with specific subject noted above and my private email) - the discount should be applicable.

However, in the “Tips” section, point 2 notes:

  • “There is no educational discount for iOS, so please directly download and purchase in the App Store.”

If there is no IOS discount, then what “Mac registration code” is being sent, and where would I be downloading the application from?

The educational discount is only applicable to the DMG version.
When applying for the educational discount, you will get the standard version of the software in the DMG format . Its functions are equivalent to the Pro version in the App Store, but this version is supported for use on Mac.
If you want to use the Max functions on your computer, you need to purchase an additional Premium activation code . If you want to use the Max functions on the iOS platform as well, you need to purchase the Pro version from the iOS App Store on top of the previous two activation codes.
