I imported a decrypted ePub into MarginNote 3. And I notice I cannot annotate on the ePub like I can on pdf. Is there anyway I can annotate on ePub?

Welcome to the MarginNote Forum. I’m really sorry that because of the limitation of the ePub format, you are able to just make some simple excerption on the ePub. So we recommend you to convert the file to PDF.

Annotating on epub doesn’t work because epub files are not static - changing parameters such as font size and line height will change positions of the text in epubs. PDFs don’t allow for such changes, so annotations work. I usually convert my ePUBs to PDF if I desire such capabilities.
