I’m only able to use extend in order to merge highlights together into a single card on iPad. I was wondering if this functionality existed on the iPhone as well. I find it extremely useful and haven’t been able to find it. Many thanks!
Hello
The functions of iPad and iPhone should be the same. Could you record a screen to demonstrate which specific function it is?
Kind Regards,

Yes, here’s a screenshot from iPad and iPhone correspondingly.
The specific function is circled in red
Here in the iPhone the same function does not exist in the bar. Also, I haven’t been able to find it anywhere else.
@mono any thoughts on this? Thanks!
Upon examining the picture, I noticed that the versions of the MarginNote software on your two devices are likely different, and the software version on the Mac hasn’t been updated to the latest one.
Hi @mono,
Thanks for your reply. I would like to clarify the two pictures:
- Top: iPad (4.1.20) >> Has the extend card functionality as seen on the picture
- Bottom: iPhone (4.1.20) >> Does -NOT- have the extend functionality, as seen on the picture.
Both devices are using MarginNote 4. Below is another picture on my iPad. Now I noticed that the feature is called continuous excerpt. You first select a highlighted area, and then you’re able to add other highlighted areas as the same card.
Any thoughts on where can I find this feature on the iPhone?
@mono is there any way to add the continuous excerpt feature to the toolbar in the iPhone, just as it’s shown in the iPad picture above? Thanks!
Thank you for your feedback. We have noted your suggestions regarding the relevant functions. Due to our recent focus on preparing for the testing of new features, the adaptation of these functions may be delayed. However, we will prioritize them and add them to our schedule.
Thanks @mono I’m looking forward to seeing this feature on Mobile. I’m surprised it doesn’t exist already, it seems so simple to implement.
