Failed upgrade from MarginNote Pro to version 3

I’m trying to upgrade MarginNote Pro (not the App Store version with in-store purchases) to version 3. The upgrade verification fails.

I’ve uninstalled the old version, backed up and deleted and the data and resinstalled and still no luck.

Can I upgrade from MarginNote Pro 2.7.X to MarginNote v3?
