How do I create a way to show highlights in thumbnail?

For some reason some of my highlights and annotations show up on my Thumbnail or Bookmarks for my documents, but others they are absent. I have written the annotations within the MarginNote app but inconsistently show up on one document but not another.

I use this for teaching and it helps to be able to spot annotations on the thumbnail icon. Please advise me about what I’m must be failing to do.

In my experience it kinda lags and fails to show all annotations from time to time. I suggest you shut it down manually from the process and start it again.
