How to make word bold/emphasize without blue underline?

I just want to make certain words bold in the excerpts in my notescards to make them stand out, without the distracting blue line under when you emphasise words. I tried to select the word and make it bold in the contextual menu, but that also made it emphasised with the blue line. I don’t use recall mode, just want the visual effect.
