I am writing to report a problem with the OCR function.
Despite having the OCR function completely disabled in all app settings(“Selection Correction”, “Select text by Offlinc OCR”, “Correct Excerpt Text Online”, “Assistive Excerpt”) OCR is still being forcefully applied when I use the mind map excerpt feature.
Specifically, when OCR is applied to Korean PDF documents, all spaces are removed, which is a recurring issue.
I understand this is a long-standing problem with the app. I would like to know if there is a possibility that this issue will be resolved. If not, I’d like to be able to use excerpt function without any modification on documents that have already been OCR-converted
Please provide a solution to this problem or a way to completely disable the forced OCR application.
Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter.
Hello, I’m a bit unclear about the meaning of “use excerpt function without any modification on documents that have already been OCR-converted.” Do you mean that you hope the OCR-corrected documents will not undergo OCR recalibration, or is it something else? If you could provide a more detailed explanation, perhaps with images, it would be extremely helpful to me.
Additionally, I’ve looked into it and found that Korean requires “spacing” to indicate words. Are you experiencing issues where MN’s built-in OCR fails to recognize these spaces?
It looks like an automatic recalibration is happening when I’m excerpting a PDF’s content into a mind map. This process is removing all the spacing in the Korean text. I’ve attached a video link to explain the situation
Even when I use the built-in OCR, all the spacing disappears. As you can see in the video, it seems that the spaces are being removed during the process of the software first recognizing the text as Chinese and then converting it back to Korean.
