Is it a good idea to create a mindmap notebook for every paper?

I am reading at least one paper in detail every day (all in the same field and they are interconnected). Right now what I’m doing is to add a new document for each paper PDF, create a mindmap notebook, and start annotating from that. However, I am wondering if it is a better idea to use only one mindmap notebook with all the documents included? I’ve tried to reference mindmap notebooks in each other but referenced ones are shown as open tabs and that bothers me a little bit. Any comments on experience with creating a giant mindmap notebook for dozens of papers would be helpful, thank you!
