I’m new to the interface i have been using the summary node feature as of currently to connect two (or more) parent nodes to have a single child node. But when i scale this for more concepts then it becomes sort of broken and loses the visual refinement as summary nodes are fixed in place for some reason. So i was wondering if either what i am doing is wrong and isnt the true intended use of marginnote or is there a feature that truly links two near similar parent nodes that will have the same downstream children node content. If someone can suggest improvements in how i handle or approach the mind map that would be welcome as well.
Hello, you might want to try the “Reference” feature. This mode allows a child node to “appear under two parent nodes simultaneously.” If you modify the content of one child node card, the other referenced card will sync the changes. However, they exist independently in the mind map and don’t look like “Summaries.”
If you need a more refined form of summary, could you please provide relevant diagrams or illustrations? We are actively improving this mode recently!
This is how i have recently started using summary nodes. They do help bring the whole concept together but as of now i cant move and place them in the mind map in a free form way for some reason.

In this example of “serum K+ measurements” tree for example. It splits into 2 children nodes which have very similar ideas. I wanted to have both the node with the picture and the node with text to have the same child node. I.e the one that starts with “patient may for example be hyperkalemic……”. WHY I WANT THIS? –> helps keep the overall content and length of a single node small and helps me tie into downstream content easily. Allows more flexibility to title nodes and have more cards instead of making a single card that is very long. Easier editing of excerpts or comments as well as smaller nodes are much easier to handle.
Like this for example.
I understand that this is not the intended use for the mindmap feature and that it is recommended to keep it linear. My suggestion is that nodes that are at the same level could have the same child node. as i have depicted. It does not have to work across branches or anything. But having 2 or more nodes in the same level tie into a single child node would be pretty useful to me. The summary feature is nice but it isn’t a true representation of a child node. I think it being as a separate standalone feature is very nice.
@Adeline any further responses?
Yes, thank you very much for your feedback. This feature request has been documented in our requirements list. However, the details of its interaction design are still under discussion, so this feature has not yet been included in our iteration plan. As a result, we cannot specify a timeline for implementing this feature (it will likely be available later than the keyboard shortcut updates).
Ok. Thank you for the update.
