Hi there. I really appreciate the latest update that added versioning backups, mainly because the old “full backup” was 56GB on my iPad so I literally cannot make a backup! It won’t even let me save something so large!

I used the version backup to make a backup on Google Drive. But to my surprise, that only took 11GB! So it’s way more efficient.
Please could the full backup be done in the same way? So that I can export locally and not have it take 56GB?

version backups can also be stored locally. In fact, version backups are superior to full backups in every aspect

Is your goal to export a full backup for sharing and direct opening for restoration? Currently, it’s not possible to achieve both; a full backup can only export the entire database

Thank you. I would just like to be able to restore everything (documents included) if I lost my iPad. So everything needs to be saved. Does version backup allow this?

can achieve this. Of course, if you are replacing with a new device yourself, it is advisable to use multiple backup methods, as data is priceless.
