I simply can’t figure out how to use this correctly.
When I make an excerpt to a card I’m left with a useless card with two identical sides 
Any help from users or the support team will be great!

Maybe version 3.5 will make the flashcard feature better and intuitive?
Nope, 3.4 has done a serries of flashcards improvements.
