Struggling newbie - distracting rectangle

Hello,

I’m struggling somewhat (a lot) getting my head around the app. I’m not sure what ive clicked, but I have a floating blue dashed rectangle that has appeared and which I cannot get rid of. Exiting the app doesn’t seem to do anything.
