Two-Page View Feature in MarginNote 4

Hello, I am a MarginNote 4 user.

Is there a feature to view a PDF file in a two-page spread after importing it into MarginNote 4?
It seems that this feature was available in MarginNote 3.

I’m sorry that your post was once filtered out. I hope it’s not too late for me to reply now. Yes, MarginNote 4 still has this function, and it performs even better than MarginNote 3 in this regard.

why is this only available in reading mode? could we please have a resizable two page mode in iPads with our mind maps open? it already does article comparison, it could render two pages then right? please consider adding this

I’m sorry I didn’t fully understand what you meant. Could you please provide some screenshots or images for illustration? Thank you very much!

We cant enable two page view mode on the ipad when the mindmap is open to the side. It only shows one page of any pdf. Two page view is only available when closing the mindmap as there is no space for it.

But there is a separate option of allowing two different pages together with a mindmap open that is “bi article comparison”.

So i was wondering if we could get a similar resizable two page view (of the same pdf) simultaneously to an open mindmap?

not sure how to sketch this. If you open a studyset and enable biarticle comparison i think i will make sense! Thank you for reading this!

Hello, is this what you mean?

Yes! Please make this optionally support one pdf, showing left and right pages of that single pdf  Turning pages in one swipe.. And thank you so much for insisting on gettin the right info, it really means so much!

I will pass along the relevant information to the R&D team. However, we’ve been focusing heavily on iterating our AI features lately, so there might be a slight delay in addressing other requests.

If you have some free time, could you share your workflow with me? For instance, why you need to operate in this specific way—having more details would help me better advocate for your needs. Thank you so much for your support!

My main issue for needing such a feature is that i mainly use marginnote with academic papers having lots of tables and figures spanning multiple pages like systematic reviews. So i am already constantly using the existing two page view on ipad trying to view all of that info at once, comparing and analyzing. While i love the current two page view it disables the mindmap and enabling the mindmap takes me out of the two page view..I just wish i could force two page view on and resize it like i already can with biarticle comparison!

Hello,

Thank you for your previous reply. May I ask for some additional improvements? When using the two-page reading mode, I would like to suggest enhancements in the following areas:

  1. Page transition style: Currently, the pages are displayed as 1|2 -> 3|4, but I think it would be more convenient if they were displayed as 1|2 -> 2|3.

  2. Zoom behavior: At the moment, when I zoom in two-page mode, both pages zoom together. It would be better if only the area where I pinch to zoom gets enlarged.

Thank you very much!

Hello, I regret to inform you that after checking with the R&D team, we confirmed that this issue has existed since the development of MN3, and unfortunately, there is no feasible solution to modify it at present.

I understand and thank you for checking. Im not in a hurry, i have lived with this for many years

As an added suggestion that i’m sure you guys thought over, the current biarticle comparison could really work for also providing a dual page view of the same pdf, solving this issue,

if only they add a switch to turn both pages in the biarticle view simultaneously
