Unexpected Blank Appears on the Note Card When the Note Texts Containing LaTeX Codes are Compiled with Markdown

I wrote some texts containing LaTeX codes in a note card with Markdown. After being compiled, the displayed view of the note card contains an unexpected blank (as I circled in the picture). I want to remove the blank, but it is no use adjusting the size of the note card. What’s the problem?

I found a way to bypass the problem: use double asterisks ** to produce bold fonts instead of \textbf. See the screenshot below:
