Why can't we have attached notebooks on the left?

A fair proportion of people are left-handed, so could attached notebooks have the option to appear on the left in iPad landscape mode? I’m surprised such a basic need was overlooked.

I know the panes can be rearranged manually, but once the attached notebook is moved to the left, it loses its alignment with the main document (the link between notes on the attached page and the corresponding position in the document). At that point it’s just an ordinary notebook.
