I know I’m supposed to “rebind” but there is nothing to rebind it to. Why does this happen in the first place? Incredibly frustrating when i can’t access documents. Can’t find a good answer or solution.
Hello
Check if the PDF has been downloaded, if it is not used for too long or the space is insufficient, it will be deleted by the system

I have plenty of room on iCloud storage and this happens as soon as a few hours to one day later. How do I check if the PDF is downloaded? I don’t see anything about that. I add pdf documents together and now I even have one that is blank in the middle.
Hello
Because this depends on the device storage space, it is recommended that if the system is the latest version, you can keep the marginnote folder for download in the file app or Finder

OK thats where the folder is. They all magically appeared after I posted here.
This issue persists. I dont even see the rebind feature anymore. I have several documents with blank pages on my Mac that are visible on my Ipad. What do I do to resolve this?
It’s possible that these documents haven’t been synced to iCloud on your Mac. I’ve encountered a similar situation before: I opened the Files app and searched for the documents I needed to link, but couldn’t download them after the search… This caused the documents to fail to link in MN as well. I tried refreshing the Files app and waiting for the iCloud sync to finish refreshing, and everything was resolved.
what do you mean “refresh the files app”?
I dont understand what you mean by “refreshing the files app”. This problem continues to happen, documents are blank on different devices. Manual sync don’t seem to do anything. Do the source files have to be in an icloud folder? They are but still are blank sometimes. I appreciate your help. MN support has not helped me.
Hello, let me clarify what I meant earlier. If you’re able to view the contents of those PDFs in your iCloud folder through other apps(such as the built-in app for managing files ), you should be able to find them quickly in MN too—and if the connection drops, re-importing them into your study set would be straightforward.
On the other hand, if you can’t view those iCloud folder PDFs via other apps, it might mean iCloud isn’t syncing them properly (or is syncing very slowly) rather than being an issue with MN itself.
Hope that helps clarify things! Let me know if you have more questions.
if im understanding you right, i can see them in iCloud. How do I reimport? I’ve only seen “rebind” which doesn’t solve my issue (and doesn’t really make sense to me bc the notebook I’m rebinding too often doesn’t exist anymore.)
If you can see these pdf on iCloud, you can import them directly.
