This is simply in bad faith. They release updates fairly often, I would say every two weeks to 1 month, and often with new features. In fact I would say the only criticism I could give is that they focus so much on new features they don’t really fix small long standing issues, but that isn’t proof the app is “dead”. It’s a development style choice
