Is the mac version another separate purchase?

Hi,

I’ve recently purchased the full version of the app on my iPad, wanted to sync it on my laptop too. Just to confirm, the mac version is another separate version? (also seems that its much more expensive, are there any student discounts?)

Given that iOS and macOS are of two separate operating platforms, iOS and macOS apps are sold separately. The purchase of the macOS app (be it license version or the one from the Mac AppStore) can't be used on the iOS AppStore, and vice versa.
